nature excursions pt. 2 by beckhanson nature excursions pt. 2 by beckhanson
these 4 photos are part of a set, kinda. well, i think they just look better as a group because they each capture different color schemes and moods. i took these on some nature walks lately, trying to get a good one to draw (maybe). but all of them have tons of trees and stuff, so i'm not sure if i can quite handle that yet. i apologize for the crap quality, my digital camera is kinda old. all the pictures were really grey and dingy, so i had to up the colors with my crappy image program. and save them in jpg form a couple times, which lowered the quality even more. i might end up scrapping these, but i just wanted some input first.

this was taken in a park in ames, ia. i could've taken pictures there all day but eric was in a hurry because he had to work and was getting bitten up. all the colors were so crazy that day, but my photo couldn't do any of it justice. it was strange how i'd take a picture of a scene and it'd look all bluish, and i'd do another one of the same scene and it'd be all reddish.

anyway, of these four photos i'm submitting, i'd like to know which one you like the best and which one would make the best drawing. thank you for looking!

Out of all of them this one is my favorite. The zig zag composition is really right up my alley. Although the colors in this one are pretty, I like the colors in the fourth one the best. They seem very rosy :)
Any way way to go! You should photoshop them together, so we can see what they are like sided by side ;)

I don't know which one would make the best drawing....but I really like the colors in this one. greens and blues.....well I'm pretty predictable that way I guess. All 4 of them really make me homesick for Wisconsin that's for sure. looks just like where I'm from. Iowa seems like a pretty nice place.

hey jeff. i really like this one too, the colors especially. i'm really drawn to the whole blue/green color combination like a bee to honey. maybe it's a soothing color combination. so has it been a long time since you've visited wisconsin? yeah, iowa is an all right place, nice landscapes.

the land and green forests of the midwest I truely miss, but I haven't been back there for a very long time (20 some years actually). After high school all my brothers and sisters moved to different states and I ended up in AZ. Our family was always pretty disfunctional so I don't keep in close touch with any relatives left in Wisc. so I probably won't be going back anytime soon. I'm thinking more on the lines of Europe for trips to be honest. its a big world, and I'm planning on seeing plenty of it. my kids will be in college in 5 years and my house is almost paid for, and then I'm hitting the road. well, not for good....just going to travel as much as i can. its a dream anyways. got to have them to keep ya going. well you asked.....probably more info than you expected. thanks for asking. my neighbor is from iowa, he's talking about moving back there..........Phx is becoming LA crowded. not for everyone anymore that's for sure.
